In 1730, after Franz Ketterer, the inventor of the cuckoo clock, the first cuckoo clock had built, Johann Hiller, a forefather of ROBERT HERR, Black Forest clocks started to produce in 1780. His son-in-law, Johann Babtist Rainer born in 1763 continued the watchmaker. Of Johann Babtist Rainer son-in-law Christian Herr was again watchmaker. From this time the watchmaker's art was transmitted by the father on the son. Christian Herr, born in 1814, ROBERT HERR, born in 1876, and Rudolf Herr created a family tradition in the production of artistic Black Forest clocks. Today now, more than 100 years later, the 5-th generation CHRISTOPHE HERR already continues the traditional family company. Since that time he creates cuckoo clocks, develops new designs, and reproduces old classical models which have found in many house holds in Germany and overseas a special place.

The good call of our products concerning quality, optics and precision provided for the fact that the customer circle of the collector reaches till the nobility. In the time of the Black Forest clocks-boom worked till the 70s in our company more than forty employees, and produced standard clocks. Since 1981, however, one has reflected again on the roots of the Black Forest clocks-production, and produces excluding unique pieces. In the pure family company, in the grandfather, son, and grandson work, are made excluding unique specimens which are tuned individually to the customer. The company ROBERT HERR sells no more to retailer, but offers her products exclusively in the home store, or in own On-line shop. Attention also finds with piece competitions the piece art of the family HERR, over and over again active. Thus one succeeded CHRISTOPHE HERR in continuation of the family tradition to decide the last clock desing, and carve competition for itself.
